We have discovered that our wedding is on the same weekend as the Orkney Folk Festival, so wherever you are planning on staying, book early!

 

There are plenty of places to stay on Orkney and the best place to start is the Visit Orkney website.

 

We've already had a look around the hotels in Kirkwall, and our own personal favourite is the Albert Hotel. Rooms are priced from £115 - £135 and we have arranged a group discount with this hotel. We can also recommend The Shore (£82-£92) but there won't be any discount. The Ayre was quite nice too.

 

One thing to bear in mind when booking your accomodation is that there will be buses arranged to ferry guests to and from the wedding, but they will only be running from Kirkwall to Deerness and back, so we recommend that if you want to take out the hassle of getting to and from the wedding, you limit your search to Kirkwall and the East Mainland.
