Orkney Information
There is just so much to see and do on Orkney. With unspoilt beaches and awesome cliffs, the scenery is stunning, as is the natural history. There are two great market towns in Kirkwall and Stromness, loads of arts and crafts shops dotted about, and the islands have some of the most impressive historical monuments in the world; ancient and modern. The obvious headliners are Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar, and the Italian Chapel.

The best place to start looking for information on the islands is the Visit Orkney website which has loads of content on what to see and do while you're on Orkney (other than the wedding obviously).

The Undsicovered Scotland Orkney website is quite good too. As is the Orkney entry on Wikipedia.

Our own personal favourite places to visit are Mull Head and the Brough of Deerness (just along from the cliffs where we are getting married), the Brough of Birsay, Marwick Head (great for Puffin spotting), and Mine Howe which is a spooky hole in the ground.

And those who fish are well advised to bring a rod. You won't be disappointed.
